Is 250 lb of resistance enough for serious lifters?

It works differently than a stack of plates. Resistance is electromagnetic, adjusts by the pound in real time, and never runs out mid-set the way free weights can. Whether that's enough depends on where you're starting from, most lifters find the ceiling is higher than they expect.

What happens if a rep gets too heavy?

Spotter mode senses it and lowers the weight automatically, before you're stuck. It's built so you can push your limit training on your own, without a second person in the room.

Why is membership required?

Membership is what makes Tonal personal. It's what sets your weight, builds your program, and adjusts both as you get stronger. Without it, the machine can't do the part that actually matters.

Will it work in my apartment?

If you've got a stretch of sturdy wall and about 7 ft of clearance in front of it, yes. Our installation team confirms your exact space before your appointment, so there's no guessing on your end.

What does Effortless Install involve?

With Effortless Install, a member of our team comes to your home, mounts Tonal to your wall, and sets it up so it's ready for your first workout. No tools, no assembly, nothing left for you to figure out.

What if it isn't for me?

Every Tonal comes with a way to change your mind, though the exact terms depend on which trainer and purchase path you choose. You'll see the specifics before you check out.

Can I try it before buying?

Yes. Renting is a full-flexibility way to try Tonal at home, with the option to cancel or return anytime.
